Mech Commander. It is a stategy game that requires
a lot of forethought and planning before each mission and is playable
online by various providers. My personal favorite and the place
you will find me at most of the time is on MPlayer.
In this game you
are put in command of a squadron of up to 12 mechs of which you
have to buy, buy and place the pilots in them, Modify their weapon
payloads if you wish, and command your squadron through each mission
trying to meet the mission objectives.
For your online
gaming, You can just go in and play for fun or you can join one
of the many units on the web by visiting a place like Starlance. I am in the Wild Dragons unit which
is classified as a Mercenary Unit.

The Raven is a 35
ton Light Mech that can move at 27 meters per second and has a
jump distance of 100 meters. It is usually used as a scout mech
or due to it's ability to carry Clan active probes, ECM suite,
and long range sensors...which gives the Inner Sphere warriors
some of the Clan Technology at their disposal.

The Vulture is a
60 ton heavy mech that can move at 24 meters per second and has
a jump distance of 83 meters. It boasts a fairly good weapon payload
for it's speed.

The Thor is a 70
ton Heavy Mech that can move at 24 meters per second and has a
jump distance of 83 meters. If you arrange a lot of these mechs
together and are in a short range battle, you are usually in pretty
good shape.

The Mad Cat is a
75 ton Heavy Mech that can move at 24 meters per second and has
a jump distance of 83 meters. This is an excellent Mech in most
cases. it can carry a large amount of firepower while still being
able to move reasonably fast and has a very good armor structure
as well.

The Masakari is
the largest of the Clan mechs and labeled as an Assault Class
weighing in at 85 tons. It's speed is somewhat sluggish though
at a mere 18 meters per second and it's jump distance is 67 meters.
However, this mech is about an even match for the Inner Sphere's
Atlas which is 15 tons heavier and a bit slower. This
Mech with the right pilot can stand back and pound the enemy from
long range.
